In a recent interview with Work In Mind (WIM), Stuart Ray, Our Technical Director at Airbox Sampling Products, delves into the growing concerns surrounding the presence of reinforced autoclaved aerated concrete (RAAC) in public buildings in the UK and the associated risks of asbestos exposure during remedial work.
High volume air sampling is a growing trend that other countries across the globe are beginning to incorporate within their testing. Ensuring a healthy and safe environment is of paramount importance. Whether it’s in industrial settings, construction sites, or indoor environments, the presence of air contaminants, particularly asbestos can pose significant risks to human health.
That’s why high volume air sampling, facilitated by our powerful Airbox Variflow XL sampling pump, has become a game-changer in the field in detecting and addressing potential problems swiftly and effectively. Our Variflow XL air sampling pump is the only pump on the market capable of delivering an extended run time of up to 10 hours at 16 litres per minute - a feature unmatched by any other pump on the market. At Airbox Sampling Pumps, we’ve developed the Dataflow Air Sampling Pump, designed and built for any environment. Using innovative Bluetooth technology, allowing for live data capture, downloadable reports all monitored from outside the enclosure or area of testing. Air sample testing requires accuracy, reliability and repeatability. Therefore whether you're working in the asbestos remediation industry, HVAC testing or environmental health monitoring, companies need to know their team is safe and their results are trustworthy. This Friday 1st July we went blue for meso to mark Action Mesothelioma Day – the disease that’s hard to say, but easy to prevent (Hard to Say, Easy to Prevent - ActionMeso). Action Mesothelioma Day and the Go Blue for Meso campaign is a national event organised by Action Meso (ActionMeso) , to raise awareness of the dangers of asbestos and mesothelioma. For action Mesothelioma Day 2022 to help put a spotlight on a disease that deserves more attention, action meso asked the public to light up homes, businesses, local landmarks (or in our case a pump!) blue on this day. (Go Blue for Meso - ActionMeso) Action Meso and the organisations that make up Action Meso do great work both supporting those who have been affected by asbestos-related cancer and raising funds for the research into tackling mesothelioma. With the help of our customers we were able to donate £1000 to help ActionMeso keep up the good work. We love collaborating with organisations like Action Meso, who do so much to raise awareness of the dangers of asbestos and support sufferers of asbestos related illness.
